Grounding monitoring for the loading and unloading of mobile tanks

The FARADO^® grounding system will ensure the safe loading and unloading of flammable products for mobile tanks (TKW, silo vehicles, wagons). Electrostatic charges can develop on the surface of non-conductive materials through friction with other materials. This charge remains on the material until it either slowly degrades or discharges through an arc to a conductor.

The sparks which develop from this discharge (high-voltage, several 1,000 volts!) can cause an ignition in the event of an explosive atmosphere.

In order to prevent this electrostatic charge, the two-pole grounding clamp is simply attached to the metal container concerned. The FARADO^® grounding system independently checks the proper grounding, as well as the capacity of the object to be grounded, and enables the loading process. Through this, it is possible to avoid dangerous situations through failures and human error.

The FARADO^® grounding system was developed on the basis of the ATEX 2014/34/EU directive, with the EEx-d[ia] type of protection, and corresponds to the protection class IP66.
